Picture serie that show the progress of the nest building from 13th to 26th April.

The base material used is moss. The nest is then covered with hair.

A video klip from yesterday shows the male feeding the female. It is normal during the incubation, but this male is feeding his wife already before the incubation.

The nest building continued. Here the best pictures of today.

Not much nest building today. Here a video there the bird is just going to sleep for the night.

The morning begun whit a visit of a couple of great tits. Here is the male and the female. It is a good sign.

The first nest materials was carried in in the afternoon. Not much but this is a good start.

The great tht in box 3 have been roosting there since it's arrival at 31th Mars 2004. Looks like it is interesting to build a nest here.

It is not sure if this is the male or the female. It has not been showing the chest to the camera yet.

And here a rabbit eating some carrots in the garden.

Box 2 is cleaned after the roosting great tit. There was quite o little of excrements so the bird really cleaned her home during the winter. Here is the bottom of the box with sawdust.

Now the box is empty. There is no use for any sawdust in the summer.

Box 2 was inspected by a couple.

The entry hole is 32 mm in diameter. It is suitable for great tit. The hole was changed to 28 mm to make the box safer for blue tits.

If there is no use of the smaller hole it will be moved back to 32 mm.
