One chick already trying to get outside of the nest cup.
This is how you ask mommy to give something to eat!
The box is not too big, especially when both parents are inside at the same time. All seven are seen on the video.

At three a clock last night a car crashed into a box with all telephone cable connections in the area. The internet connection of the this birdboxcam was also damaged. It will take several days to repair all damages.
During this time the diary will be updated and published if another connection is available. The real time picture is not available and the picture archive is not on line.

The chicks has grown. They are going to have some feathers.

A new box installed last sunday was connected today. The main resaon for the box is to test new technology. The box has two cameres, both inside and outside.
The first bird looking at the new box was a pied flycatcher. The hole of this bos is 28 mm wich is suitable for the blue tit but it might be too small for the pied flycatcher.

The chicks are bigger today than yesterday. Now only seven ot them seems to be left. Most likely the smallest one are not aliwe any more.
The chicks are growing durging the day. They seems to be bigger in the evening than in the morning!

Birds are working fine together.
Both parents.
Here are all eight chicks. One of them looks smaller than the others. Most likely it is the one wichs hatched after all others.

Two pictures. The first from the morning and the second one from the evening. It looks like the chicks has grown within these eleven hours. After three weeks they shoud bee flying.

Looks like the the female wants the food that the male is carrying in. But the male decides to give it to his children instead!

First egg hatched! Here are still eight eggs.
In the video taken at 6:22 pm the female is eating the shell of one egg.

Only one egg is hatched so far. The female did not leave the nest today so the chick was not seen very well. Here is a glimt of it.

The male brings food to the female and she is often eating at the entry hole or then she goes out from the box to eat. Here a video where the the male brings the food into the box:

Looks like squirrels finds something to eat in the same oak as box 2 is located. Ewery time a squirrel is klimbing behind the box the female inside is getting angry. This seen wery good in these images. The squirrels does not react to the bird at all.
The bird is hitting the wall with her neb. She is looking as frighting as she can. A beautiful video of the angry bird:

No mere eggs. There are now eight off the and the female is incubating.
It is important to move the eggs in different position during the day.

Seven eggs.
The bird is now sitting on the eggs most of the day. It may still lay some more eggs, one or two. We will see.
The video from today shows how the bird is laying the dog hair on the side of the nest cup. Yes, it is dog hair from the garden where two dogs are spending their time during the days. The she is placing the eggs in a better position and finally going to sleep.

There are at least six eggs now in the great tit nest in box3. In the other picture there are only five eggs visible.
And here a pivture from yesterday, no visible eggs. This is why it is so difficult to find out how many eggs there are.
The pied flycatcher has arrived and is no looking for nest boxes. Here it is looking in box 2.
It does not care if the box is empty or not. It has also visited box 3.
It is not very unusual that a pied flycatcher is stealing the nest box from other birds. Even if there are already eggs, the pied flycatcher is building the nest of its own above the old nest and eggs. Here some pictures where the great tit is defending its nest against the pied flycatcher.:

Ensimmäinen muna havaittu tänään aamulla. Munia saattaa olla kuvassa kaksikin, enemmänkin munia voi olla pehmikkeiden seassa piilossa. Lintu munii yleensä yhden munan päivässä, joten muninnan aloituspäivämäärä voidaan laskea taaksepäin muninnan alkaessa, jolloin viimeistään kaikki munat ovat näkyvissä. Siihen asti ne ovat usein piilossa.

First egg was seen today. There may be two eggs in the picture. Even more eggs may be under the nest material and there fore not visible for the camera.
