There still are two birds. The video from today proves that:

The egg laying can begin any time now. The nest is ready enough for that.
It is unclear at the moment if both male and female are building the nest together or is it the female alone. There are some inconsistent information about this in different books. The picture from the box camera does not show the sex of the great tit.
Two night the box was empty but this evening the female came in and stayed.

The box was empty last night. In the morning a bird came back.
The nest building continued.
Normally the female is roosting in the box during thw nest building. We don'n know where she is now. Is it the male who was in the box today or was the female also there? No archive picture from today is showing two birds. That is not unusual but it means that we can not know if there is still a coulpe or is the male alone.
The box is empty again in the evening.
Tomorrow the picture will be captured on video beginning in the morning lasting until evening. Maybe that video will give us some answers.

It is not always too easy to be a bird and building a nest. This thing is not suitable and must go out! But how? The hole is too small. Well, now it is looking better.

A cold spell with snow on the ground and a few degrees below zero celcius. Despite that our great tit are now working quite diligently.
The birds are carrying moss and some dry grass into the box.
Any material is not accept. This straw must out!
And then to sleep. It is only the female who is roosting in the box. The male have to stay outside.
There has been some activities
also around box 4b but no one has been very interested about it.
Snow in the right picture. The temperature readings in these pictures are broken.
Still quite slow progress. For sure it is a couple of great tit so we can expect a normal nesting.

Starting of nest building in box 1 today. Here is
the great tit female roosting in the box tonight. There is some moss in the
box. Yesterday it was empty.
Picture from box 1 is now on line.

A blue tit has visited box 4 every day. Here it is carrying some flakes out of the box.

There has been a great tit roosting in Box 3 until these days.
Today the box was cleaned.
Someone just peeked in the box, did not enter it.
Box 4 was fullfilled with sawdust.
It looks like the blue tit some times wants to make the hollow itselves. This is mostly an experiment to see what the blue tit is going to do.
